Later in the post, you will see yarn dyed and featured in the ChemKnitsTutorials on YouTube, "Layering Mystery Food Coloring & Acid Dyes on Sock Yarn; Leave No Dye Behind" published on 5/24/19. This yarn is also stunning, and the project was a delight to work.
Coastal Wave Shawl(ette)
Taking
inspiration from our view of the North Oregon Coast, I have developed
the Coastal Wave Shawl(ette). If
the Coastal Wave Shawl(ette) is knit in a cotton blend,
perfect for cool spring and summer evenings. If knit in blended
wool, great for the blustery winter.
The shawl(ette)
is worked with 2 increases
on beginning Right Side. The
eyelet will be worked on the Wrong
Side, along with 1
decrease,
creating an asymmetrical shawl. The
wave will be worked on the Wrong
Side along with
bind-off
steps.
This might be considered an advance beginner pattern because
knowledge of stitch and shawl construction are helpful. The
shawl(ette)
takes a few evenings or weekends to complete, making the Coastal
Wave
Shawl(ette)
a perfect gift or accessory.

I wound the (357yards) yarn into a ball, gathered supplies and a pattern. |
I worked the Eyelet Rows. Yes, 70stitches and 75grams yarn remaining! I had the pink yarn ready to run a lifeline. |
I worked 7 repeats of the Large Eyelet rows. I weighed the yarn just to see. What?! I had 52grams remaining. Oh! It was time to run another lifeline, and get started on the Wave Rows! |
The shawl(ette) was finished with 3grams of remaining yarn! It was time to soak the project in a little warm water and drop of dish soap, rinse, roll in a towel, and block. |
The shawl(ette) was finished and blocking. This colorway is more than stunning, and the shawl(ette) was a delight to work. |
We had beautiful weather. Enjoyed the wind blown hair! The Coast to Coast Coastal Wave Shawl(ette) is beautiful! |
